Our Service Never Forgotten

Hebrews 6:10-13,15
"For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself. And so, after [Abraham] had patiently endured, he obtained the promise."

Every time a believer seeks to glorify God's name in thought, word, or deed, his effort will never go unnoticed or be forgotten. When one labors in love for God's sake, he can be completely sure that His Saviour is watching and will reward His servant for his continued faithfulness. Thus we should be encouraged and show diligence in our labor because our salvation and eternal reward is secure in the promise of God. Do not lose heart as the days of this world grow darker because those who remain faithful to the end will receive all that God has promised His children.

Never shall His covenant with us fail for He has sworn it on something that will never change - Himself. So take heart if your efforts appear small and forgotten in this world, be encouraged if you are facing the world's contempt for the Lord's sake, for if we hold strong in our faith until the end, our God will be true to every promise He has ever made to us and we shall hear those blessed words, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord."
